I enjoy watching animals interact, and there’s something especially lovely about watching two creatures who would normally be considered enemies engaging in a friendly, or even playful, manner.

And so, the initial meeting between two ‘opposing’ animals was the inspiration for this artwork. While there may be some natural enmity, the hare and the hound have long been set against each other in the name of sport (which I personally find repugnant!), and I wonder if they may sometimes choose friendship over hostility if left to their own devices.
