The Owl is a bird that has dug deep into the psyche of many a culture with their hypnotic eyes and swivelling heads. They have been imbued with much symbolism being venerated and feared, loved and hated, persecuted and protected to varying degrees throughout history. Like most people now, I find nothing sinister at all in the magnificent Owl. Rather, painting the silent and calm bearing of the Barn Owl was a balm to my simplicity-seeking soul.
