This artwork is in honour of the shy creatures amongst us, who prefer to observe what’s going on or stay in their own little world. As an introvert I certainly fall into this category. When I painted this little mouse, I had been thinking a lot about social media, the great wide world of the internet and how everything seems to be so very public these days. It’s an odd thing to behold for a privacy loving creature like myself.

I have never been comfortable with being the centre of attention, and I have found that the internet is actually a great gift in this regard. I can put my workings and the thoughts behind them ‘out there’ for all the world to see from the safety of my studio – like the little mouse in my drawing peeking out from behind his leaf.
